Case Study: Meyer Sound Laboratories

The goal of the article, from Meyer Sound's point of view, was to highlight the quality, design and placement of their speakers. However, the publication was looking for a balanced article about the entirety of the renovation, a five-year project that had included overall hall architecture, acoustic design, stage configuration, electrical rewiring and a lighting redesign in addition to the new sound system. My job was to prominently feature the Meyer Sound equipment, while providing a comprehensive piece on the project as a whole, all within 2,000 words. To accomplish this task, I conducted phone interviews with engineers, technicians, lighting and sound specialists and architects in Baltimore and New York.
The finished product covered all the bases, winning praise from Meyer Sound's editors and owners, Meyerhoff Hall personnel, and the editors of Auditoria.
